    The waste pipe is always located in front of the stove. This distinguishes it from tandyr or fireplace. The dome is made multi-layered. The first layer is a refractory brick treated with clay.The second layer is a heat insulator. This is usually basalt wool, which is covered with perlite insulation. The last level consists of cement.     How to make a Pompeian stove with your own hands?

    To work will require:

A wooden formwork is constructed along its inner perimeter. It is covered with a layer of dense polyethylene, crushed stone is covered to the bottom, then - a layer of sand.

    On top of all this is covered with a layer of polyethylene. The resulting waterproofing pad is poured with cement in three stages. Between them, you must observe a period of at least two days.

    Reinforcement is carried out only after the level of the mortar has reached the formwork. The base will be ready for further work no earlier than in three weeks. If this rule is not followed, the probability of a rapid deformation of the furnace is great.


    In the future, it will be located dome and tabletop.The height of the pedestal is usually 80 cm. Sometimes the foundation is above the ground. In this case, the height may be slightly reduced. The shape of this element resembles the letter “H”, in which the sides are equal to 120 cm. To work, a cinder block with a length of each element of 40 cm is required.

    Slag blocks are laid dry. It involves the bonding of the material with reinforcing wire. After that, it remains to pour the cement mortar into the voids of the blocks, wait 2-3 days until it is completely dry.

    First formwork is done. To the tabletop was the right size, the front formwork is 20 cm longer. As the bottom of the formwork serves moisture-resistant plywood. According to the dimensions specified in your drawing, cut boards, knock them together. For corners it is recommended to use metal brackets. It remains to put a reinforcing mesh with a gap of 5 cm.

    It now remains to pour concrete solution, evenly distribute it, check the construction level.In order for the tabletop to become solid, it is necessary to make a technological break for a period from a week to three.


    A circle with a diameter from 90 to 105 cm is drawn on the dried tabletop. Now you need to lay out the refractory bricks that form under (the base) in a continuous row. It is better to use a zigzag clutch so that there are no cross seams. Number the elements so as not to be mistaken when laying out.

    On the countertop fit one layer of insulation. Bricks are placed on top. Do not forget that it is necessary to determine in advance the entrance through which the wood and food will be laid. For the latter, 6 bricks are laid out in one horizontal line, which should form a side.

    To make it easier to lay the dome itself, it is recommended to make a cardboard or plywood template of intersecting semicircular blanks. Further work is carried out on it. Masonry starts from the entrance and continues to the back of the dome.

    It remains to make the chimney. Depending on the scheme, it is made of brick, metal, ceramics. When this element is installed, all seams should be sealed with mortar. After a few days, the structure will become solid, so it will be possible to dismantle the template structures.

    For exterior cladding, plaster or clay or ceramic mosaic is used. In the absence of a canopy over construction, heat resistant material for the inner layer and moisture resistant for the outer one will be required.

    You can use the Pompeian stove no earlier than two weeks. For the first kindling, it is advisable to use paper or straw, for the second - brushwood, for the third - chips; for the fourth - small logs. If all tests are successful, the furnace is ready for use.
