• Hiding tuck on the lace canvas

Little is compared to beauty with a lace dress! Even simple in cut, but made from this noble material, it immediately takes on a special look. I also very often work with this material, as I specialize mainly in the evening fashion. I use lace as an accent, finish or foundation. When I received my first lace order, I was puzzled about how to work with this material. Lace is textured, fragile, expensive ... It is interesting that for each kind of lace fabric their unique processing rules. Up to something, I got it myself, I read something on the pages of the Internet. Now I want to share the way that I use when working with cord lace on a cobweb. Let's get started

In order to preserve lace patterns as much as possible and to make as few seams as possible, the number of tucks should be kept to a minimum. Take, for example, the bodice of the base of a fitted dress. On the back and so already one dart, and on the shelf there are two: the waist and chest. We need to make sure that the dart is only one and as little as possible noticeable.

I am convinced that you need to get rid of the chest tuck when working with lace without regret, because here it is in plain sight. Darts can be taken to the armhole (1 way), to the side seam (2 way) or simply to close the breast tuck, thereby opening the thalamous (3 way). The best options I think are methods 2 and 3. When pulling into the side seam, we do the least harm to the lace fabric - the tuck turns out to be short and least noticeable; but with method 3, we can more accurately model the breast line, getting a more seductive silhouette. Therefore, I would recommend method 3 for models on the figure, and method 2 for more free silhouettes.

Take for a more detailed consideration of the method 3. Close the chest dart.

IMPORTANT!Before cutting the lace, make sure to try on the layout of the layout to exclude any landing errors in the figure, since making changes to the lace pattern will be almost impossible or very difficult.

We translate the pattern into lace using the simplest cushioning seam. For this purpose it is better to take a contrast thread.

Carefully cut the dart so as not to damage the one-piece lace elements.

To combine the seam was soft without thickness, cut off all the extra elements inside the tuck.

Close the tucks, combining the seam face to the wrong side. It turns out that one side of the cut tuck covers the other.

We take the thread in the tone of lace or monofilament and, moving along the pattern of the lace, gently connect the dart. Steam iron.

Now we need to strengthen all the weak spots and the very tug to hide the seams, which still remained visible and make the construction itself more solid. We cut out lace elements from the lace remnants and, like an appliqué, we sew them on the seam line of the dart offset. Steam off.

I hope my method will come in handy for beginners, and experienced ones will probably share their ideas.
